Waterwend Shop: Flowerdragon Tattoo

Knowledge (local) or Craft (tattooing) DC15: A newly opened tattoo shop run by a human expert3 master tattoo artist named Rafael, though most people call him "Red" for his shock of scarlet hair. His prices are slightly high due to his skill level, though he has taken on 2 apprentices to train: tallfellow halfling commoner1 Eldon Tosscobble and half-elf commoner1 Cyan Softblossom. His tattoos are popular with travelers and those who dwell in the Red-Light District where his shop is located, but not with the conservative halfling locals or the merchant upper class. Red also provides a variety of piercings, which are popular with sailors and the local middle-and-upper-class halfling youth. His prices are as follows (taxes included):

Tattoos:

  2cp for coin-sized

  1sp, 5cp for hand-sized

  15gp for back-sized

  special: The above prices assume one color, usually black. Each extra color costs as much again as the base price for a tattoo of that size.

Piercings:

  1gp, 5sp for earlobe or eyebrow

  3gp for septum, lip, nipples, or tongue

  4gp, 5sp for upper ear, navel, genitals

Knowledge (the planes) or Bardic Knowledge DC20: Red has a touch of demon blood from a tiefling grandmother, but it's thinned down enough that only his hair and wild nature might be clues to an educated observer.

Waterwend Shop: Ryelly’s Wondrous Vault

Knowledge (local) DC15: A small shop downtown that sells various magic items, such as rings, rods, and magical clothing. The shop's owner, portly middle-aged tallfellow halfling expert3 Ryelly Underbough, is not a craftsman himself, but simply a merchant who has specialized in buying and selling magical equipment for over 40 years. He can sometimes identify low-value items from experience. Even for items he can't identify, he can often estimate their value. He keeps everything behind magically-reinforced, alarmed, and trapped glass cases. His turnover is low, as few people can afford such expensive treasures, but he makes a significant profit on each sale. As a Merchants Guild member, all his prices increased by 5% in return for a guarantee of quality.

Bardic Knowledge DC10: Ryelly is distant cousin of Merla Underbough, owner of Underbough's Underwriting, and they have been close since childhood (they're also about the same age).

Waterwend Shop: Verrer and Arral’s Quill

Knowledge (local) DC15: Specialized magic shop that sells various scrolls. Most of the arcane ones are scribed by the two business partners who run the shop, tallfellow halfling wizard7's Verrer Leegarrow and Arral Highhill. Verrer's familiar, a bengal cat named Samantha, is charged with keeping the shop free of vermin who might otherwise eat their stock. They can scribe scrolls to order of wizard spells up to lv4, and have an arrangement with the Temple of Yondalla to trade their own work for divine scrolls at cost. 

Bardic Knowledge DC10: A common rumor claims that the owners are lesbian lovers, though they deny it.

My agent in Waterwend has sent me word of the recent chaos there. It seems the Deathwalkers are involved as well. I would not be surprised if you had some hand in their distraction... I heard of their raid on your complex near Strongtown last year. Perhaps Gurak and Shurreon will rid us of a common pest?

We have suffered heavy losses against Waterwend's defenders. The Deathwalkers and the Red King have joined forces to protect the city, and the council hired sellswords, too, despite our best efforts... Ice-Nine, Black Sabbath, the Wayfinders, and others.
