It’s been a long time since Oliver had an episode like this. He’s not even sure what the sound was that triggered it, only knows that the quick snap of it through the air felt like it shattered his ear drums. Sound is so much louder here, or is it just the fucking people, he thinks bitterly as he staggers to a stop next to a low wall.
The dizziness comes in waves, just like the last time as his inner ear continues echoing. It’s the worst version of diving confusion - and he’s not even moving. This isn’t the worst bout he’s had - some of the ship noises in the ports had felt like they were crushing the very Song in his body with their intensity. Sweat drips down the back of his neck and he wipes it away with no small amount of irritation. Losing water always drags these things out, but he can’t even sit up without leaning in circles like an idiot much less hold a bottle steady.
With a groan he lets his legs fold to sit on the wall, wiping his face before his trembling hands fall, elbows braced on his knees. Beyond the ringing, he can hear people mumbling in confusion, but none stop to check on him. Typical. Just a few minutes, he promises himself. Just a little break and it’ll be over.
