Chapter 3: Waves of Change

Have you ever just sat down and watch water work. A wave connects to another wave in seconds. Each wave makes something different. Sometimes it makes multiple smaller waves and sometimes it creates a massive wave. We go about our everyday lives thinking and believing our lives will not effect anyone. That we wake up and pass strangers and no meaning comes of it. However if that is what you believe, you are wrong.

A few days ago I was challenged with some decisions that would change my life in a big way. On a Saturday, I had woken up and began to get ready for the day. Not being happy with my hair, I had decided to go to the salon and get it colored. While I was at the salon, I was aware that I was invited to go see a women (Danielle Egnew) speak. However, I had not found a babysitter and I knew that it was very unlikely for my husband to watch the baby. Though seconds later I had gotten a call from him saying that he did not have to work and he could watch her. So I had attended the group event. I was amazed at how inspiring Danielle was and how it felt like she was speaking directly to me. When the event was over, I had felt an immense urge to quit my job. So on Monday morning I quit my job. Within hours later, I was hired at an amazing job by a lady that also attended the same event on Saturday.

My point is, if I didn't decide to go get my hair done, I probably wouldn't have gone to the event. If I didn't go to the event, I wouldn't have quit my job. If I didn't quit my job, I wouldn't have begin this new chapter in my life. That was a big wave in my ocean of life. And with that wave, I created multiple smaller waves in each person I met. That is life. You will never go about your day and not make a wave that may change someone else's little wave into a massive episodic wave. Be the positive wave in the ocean of life!
