A warm, sunny Sunday, so a great day for some yard work and gardening, but I still wanted to take part in the Urban Sketchers Chicago (@uskchicago ) virtual sketch activity, albeit a little late. /// Today’s theme was “Precious,” and I think, if I am not mistaken, the idea was to break out and use those “precious” art supplies that we’ve been saving and holding on to for so long. /// Which, in my case, was a beautiful pocket sketchbook from Stillman & Birn (@stillmanandbirn ), which I believe was included in our goodie bag at the Usk Chicago 2019 seminar almost a year ago. /// It’s really nice, especially the cover, and it has gray-brown-sepia paper, which I normally don’t use. /// But today was a good reason to take it off the shelf and put it into action, and I was inspired by the suggestion of Peter, another Usk Chicago member, to try to draw a dandelion on colored paper. /// @sakuraofamerica Gelly Roll 0.5 in my pocket @stillmanandbirn sketchbook. /// #uskchicago #uskathome #dandelion #precious #makeart (at Valparaiso, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAmCoDfn4os/?igshid=17skol019zcli
