Anything that makes me feel like when I was a kid bumping K-DAY is going to get love from me. "WAWG" had me skeptical at first, but when I pressed play but with first seconds having the match strike like on "The Chronic", I knew that I was in for something that would be enjoyable. Though I find it disappointing that WBALLZ got replaced by DPGC radio, everything else was the blast from the past that I didn't know I needed. Snoop's presence was heavier than I expected, but I am glad that he was mixed loud enough to actually hear his soft spoken cadence, which has put him out of Top MC lists for me for years. Kurupt's pen is as deadly as ever, hence why my selection of him on album closer "Who Da Hardest?" was an easy choice, and he did not disappoint. DJ Quik samples, drive by inserts, middle aged men urging listeners to throw up their signs like teenage warriors, all topped off with a layer of maturity similar to Snoop's most recent group endeavour in Mt. Westmore ... with features like this it was impossible not to at least check out this Dogg Pound reunion. And even though I still dont understand why Daz is in the group (with Snoop picking up his slack on the bars and the likes of Battlecat and Preemo holding down the 1's and 2's), I have to say I am not disappointed with my first time hearing a full DPG LP. - C.V.R.
