Around a year ago, @paolacala and I were preparing for my first trip to Colombia; it was supposed to be a retreat, but instead it was a visit with Pao's school friends and family in the Land of Magical Realism. I learned conversational Spanish through immersion, wandered around Cali (it feels and smells like Brooklyn), drove across the country, walked up a mountain, down through the Cocora Valley and tasted coffee while standing on the land very land it grew from. I am in LOVE with Colombia. The view from our campsite in Valle de Cocora, Colombia. Probably one of the only places in the world where you find palm trees at 2400 meters/7800 feet of elevation.
