“Sam’s the lead in the play?” He stared at the woman, waiting for his son to emerge from within the building. It had become school policy to always have a parent or guardian there to physically pick-up their child whether from the building itself or from the bus stop. Wayne knew his children could handle any child snatcher that dared to touch a Malloy, but it was not in their best interests to be the odd family when they were trying to blend in with their new identities. Play nice and follow the rules. 

“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” He asked her, concern flickering through his sunglasses. “He’s already a bit of a target.”

Wayne was handing bags off to the kids as they packed up from the last revival. Everyone was climbing into their vans and buses, prepping for wherever the road led.

Catching sight of Jonas, Wayne waved him over. “This town was a bit of a bust. Where to next?”

“You’re right, my wife is stunning. She is also my wife. We don’t fool around on one another. I don’t touch other women, she don’t touch other men.” At least, Wayne hoped so. He was still unsure about Daliah’s relationship with her cell mate in prison…
