March WBMC: Body Language by Jane Bee

Inspired by the friends and memories made while playing competitive fighting games, especially Street Fighter 6, this 24 pg zine celebrates the collaboration and camaraderie of competition.

Body Language is a poem I wrote after Street Fighter 6 was released in 2023. During my time playing, I was thinking a lot on how communicative it felt to play. How competition is a collaborative process, in that it requires all parties to adhere to communally agreed upon rules of play and to respect established boundaries. About how I've made many friends and memories during my time playing competitive fighting games and their tremendous influence on me and on the trajectory of my life. And that as exciting and comforting as it was to find people who shared space and similar interests with me, it was the hardest hitting conversations in my life that I hold closest to me. Feb WBMC: Experimental Sex by @latelylately

Experimental Sex came about as I was thinking of all the amazing ways that sex (both the noun and the verb) manifests in nature. “Biological sex” in truth is diverse, outlandish, and quite beautiful. I have a particular soft spot for these microscopic hermaphroditic worms that I studied in college. This is my ode to the worm!~Ruben
