I have a lot to say about the fireside but my immediate thoughts and love is how unforgiving Brennan is towards Steel.

As a Steel enjoyer, I find it really refreshing how Brennan is like, yes, there is nuance and circumstance, but Steel is evil.

And we can see just how evil she is because of how good Suvi is.

Suvi had the same information as Steel and chose to be better.

Immediate thoughts on steel after the finale:

All I can say is that Steel is such a masterful character that it's hard not to love her. For me, at least, she has remained my favorite character because of just how right she thinks she is.

She believes everything she is doing with such conviction that it has you doubting yourself. She's not a liar, but that justification machine is working triple time to make everything she believes a truth.

I can't stop thinking about her wondering why love wasn't enough to change her. How come everyone else she loves and cares for is suddenly different after experiencing love except her.

How come the citadel was able to break her but not them. It must be that they're wrong, and she's right. That they're broken and need to be fixed. It's the only way any of this makes sense.

She is so tragic and broken and thinks love and power are one. I am constantly thinking about when Brennan said that Control is love to Suvi because, if it's not, how does Suvi reckon with the fact that her mom is giving her orders.

Okay. One final thing I can't stop thinking about.

Eioghorain and Steel both told Suvi that her parents had lost their minds.

I don't know what to do with this. I just can't stop thinking about it.
