"You want some help?"
“If the point of this world is to dream something into being, why the fuck would you dream of hurting people?”
— Eioghorain, Worlds Beyond Number
Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to watch Suvi and Eioghorain’s relationship develop, but I’m also excited to see the impact Eioghorain has on Ame. He also lives at the intersection of humanity and spirit, and has spent decades fighting cruelty and injustice. He can provide context and mentorship of a very different sort than Grandmother Wren. If Grandmother Wren was the authority on “Be Kind”, Eioghorain is the example of “Be Cunning”.
So I Did Call It
And so here's the quotes
Starts relistening to wwwo and hearing steel say “You are going to see what I do one day and you're going to be so sorry for all the times you made fun of me.” Fills me with some amount of dread for the battle of twelve brooks, mama is coming and she might think that Eioghorain has taken another member of her family. I’m so scared about the possibilities that scorched earth Steel may present just

once again for the people in the back
eioghorain. not that hard if you take a minute. this isn’t directed at any specific person, because i’m seeing it a lot. and if you didn’t know it before, that’s fine, now you do. but if you’re intentionally choosing not to spell it properly out of laziness or spite, you’re an ass.
please learn how to spell it. don't anglicize it. don’t use a shorthand/nickname for it. brennan spelled it for us outright (in-universe, even), so there’s truly no excuse. it was awhile ago, yes, but five seconds on google is all it takes.
it's a really big issue with irish and other celtic names—and that seems to be the language family his name is based in—that people refuse to spell them properly because they think it's too many vowels or letters. they say it’s silly and that it’s unnecessary or making it too hard on purpose. and it's actually just because these names aren't in english (even if they ~appear~ to be). it’s disrespectful and ignorant, and is the result of an imperial nation eradicating a native language from a colonized land and replacing it with their own.
extremely ironic to see this considering we're listening to a story so heavily built around imperialism.
and i’ve a feeling we'll be using his name a lot now, it seems, so use a keyboard shortcut on mobile! copy and paste! pin this post or save it in drafts! memorize it or use a mnemonic!
Okay. One final thing I can't stop thinking about.
Eioghorain and Steel both told Suvi that her parents had lost their minds.
I don't know what to do with this. I just can't stop thinking about it.
