a few things: the smell of raw meat, bogs, burning hair.  but definitely one of the bigger things in her life that rocks her to the core is reading about / watching movies about / hearing about the genocide and internment of her people.  residential schools make her stomach churn.  the jokes people still make at the expense of indigenous people who suffered makes her nauseous, angry, confused.  its a rough subject.
