something like christmas draws a lot of mixed feelings out of her tbh. there was a time in her life where she loved it, where it meant her and her father and her grandfather coming together. and then her grandfather passed, and her dad got busy, and it usually just meant a time for disappointment. now, however, she LOVES celebrating with her friends, getting them overpriced gifts and having a big potluck or just enjoying their company and a bit of snow. there was a time were it brought a bitter taste to her mouth, but now she finds ways to enjoy it.
there are a few cherokee holidays and festivals that were important in her youth. sometimes piper and her grandpa would go to tahlequah for the celebrations, or find ways to celebrate locally. again, after her grandfather died, there was a period of time where celebrations were rare, or half-assed in her household. but now that she has the right circle of friends who would be interested in helping her celebrate her culture, she’s learning to enjoy those times again.
