Fireclan are a sort of shadowclan and windclan fusion. They run upon the open moors and dodge the fires of greenleaf. They are always ready for a fight and delight in adrenaline rushes. They are lean, mean fighting machines!
Camp time: They have no nests and instead sleep in a giant pile in the centre. The ranking from centre outwards goes like Queens/kits>Elders>Apprentices>Warriors.
The leader’s and Medicine den are both dug out. On extremely stormy nights, queens, elders and apprentices will cram themselves into the medicine cat den while warriors will rotate in the leader’s den.
Leader: Foxstar (6/9 lives)
Deputy: Darktooth
Medicine Cat: Spottedbrook
Tradition time
Courting: Fireclan cats don’t put a big emphasis on relationships and polyamory isn't some big taboo. Every cat loves each other pretty much.
In terms of courting a specific cat, they’ll challenge them to a battle and the two cats will spar. If the challenger wins they become ‘mates’. Only if the loser accepts, of course.
Battle time: When it comes to border fights, if Fireclan is aware of the upcoming fight… the medicine cats will harvest the mass amount of death berries on the hill of little lake and mush it up in a form of body paint which the participating warriors will roll around in for the battle. Other clans have learnt that you do not bite them. When done, the warriors will ignore all wounds and immediately cleanse themselves in the ocean. While this is an easy way to clean wounds, warriors have died because they haven't got the medical care they needed in time.
Name time: Full warrior names are rarely used because all cats tend to be close. They prize brutal names and renaming is common. Names like Brokenface seem cruel to other clans but cats in Fireclan love the intimidation factor.
Rank up time: While an apprentice may be granted their warrior name, they will not be considered a warrior until the do a ‘fire run’ which is where they grab a stick, grab some fire from a wildfire and bring it to a specified area to burn and smoke out prey, much like a firehawk. It’s a similar process from warrior to elder, to do one last ‘fire run’. Medicine cats are supposed to make the pre-battle body paint.
Story time: A common legend is how Firestar figured out how to make use of fire in smoking out prey, it normally goes along the lines of how he observed a Firehawk and copied it, as well as taking its name.
Another legend tells of Ravenwind, a she-cat who was born blind yet became the swiftest hunter Fireclan ever had. They say she single-handedly saved the clan from starving in leaf-bare. They also say Star granted the entirety of the night sky for her to roam upon her death.
Extra time: Because there is no nursery, newborn kits and mother will spend the first moon in the medicine den. When out, Queens ‘chickening’ kits isn’t uncommon. There are also constant lookouts on duty watching for hawks.
Saying time: For a clan meeting, a leader will say ‘All cats for which the fires run’ which is an odd phrasing but has overtime become a leader thing and something to say to a fireclan cat to wish good luck.
I feel like it really depends on the clan hoe mental health issues are treated, but especially grieving seems to be taken seriously, and I was just thinking about how a clan would handle depression (assuming the clan is not riddled with fuckers) and I almost wonder like
What if an apprentice was extremely "distracted" and "lazy" during training and was punished with being stuck in camp, only being allowed out to collect elders and queens beding, bit as time goes on and the apprentice talked to the elders, queens, and the medicin cats they begin to realize sort of what's going on, and instead of becoming a regular warrior they become an "elder" but really they mostly help like, with feeding the elders, gathering herbs, and only hunting when up for it, and makeing sure the queens and Kitts have enough water and moss balls and that's how they contribute to the clan.
