The Chaos Devil (this weird Mega Man boss mixed with the watery form of Chaos) only appears at the end of this issue, despite being on the cover and touted as the next thing Sonic and Mega Man are gonna face. Still, its a very creative and crazy concept to begin with, which goes perfectly with the crossover’s design philosophy of “Make Sonic and Mega Man stuff and put them together to form new thing”.
Huh, with Rouge in the first page, I always thought she was sticking her tongue out but apparently that’s just her pink sleeve.
Heh, I like how the Roboticized Masters here are arranged like the menus from Mega Man games, but with an extra row to fit Sonic and some more bosses.
This issue ends quite suddenly after Rouge is taken to be Roboticized. Apparently, Eggman and Wily just have an army of “time-cloned” Robot Masters from all the Mega Man games, just lying in wait for the heroes to arrive.
Man, poor Yardley. He had difficulty drawing Mega Man’s anatomy and face and now he had to draw a whole panel of Mega Man characters.
So with the Chaotix and Proto Man locating the bad guys’ base, the team splits up to prepare for the final level.
Also, I love this lil moment with Sonic and Amy. She sure had mistaken a lot of hedgehogs for Sonic, huh.
Hello darkness my old friend
Sonic’s always fun to read, with his snarky dialogue and his dissatisfaction over hid Roboticized friends not freeing themselves.
For some reason, on this page where the two doctors are working on their final boss machine, they seem to be riding on smaller versions of their vehicles. I wouldn’t be surprised if the original script had them be normal-sized but penciller Tracy Yardley just decided to draw something different for a change.
