Oakpaw was loved dearly by his family, and they still love him... even if he's a traitor.

Oakpaw was the second born in his litter of two, and was a mite smaller than his littermate, Birchkit. Mother Springfrost and Father Lakeshade doted on the two kits constantly, and were taught to be kind and selfless in a Clan that was in a continuous state of battle. VoleClan and HeatherClan have always had difficulty reconciling over their shared history, with VoleClan claiming that HeatherClan exists on "stolen territory". With the added threat of BlotchClan rising, many cats within the Clan became militaristic and harsh.

Never cruel, especially not to young kits, but the coddling and doting soon went away once they were deemed 'paws.

Oakpaw's previous mentor, Adderstorm, was one cat who trained his apprentices to be steely and strong warriors, and was hard on Oakpaw on days where he just couldn't keep up with the others.

With the added threat of HeatherClan considering BlotchClan's proposition to become allies, Oakpaw slipped away. He only told his parents and sister that he would be leaving, and all three had mixed reactions. Springfrost and Birchpaw were saddened he was leaving, while Lakeshade was furious. "No son or daughter of mine will become a traitor to their Clan. If you step paw outside this territory, you are no longer my son."

And that was that.

Oakpaw misses his father the most despite everything, and wishes they could reconcile...
