Wickedest Desires / Regina & Robin Hood
Regina's frustration was rising like a flame in her chest. As if the man actually grabbing her by the shoulder and forcing her to face him wasn't enough, what he said next really hit close to home. If he paid close attention, he would notice the small smudge of make-up from the single tear she wiped away only moments ago. Her dark, chocolate orbs flickered with rage as she turned sharply to glare at him. Oh, how she wanted to magically blast him across the room so hard that it knocked the air right out of his lungs. And she almost did, but something stopped her. It was her own emotions. For some reason she felt the urge to explain herself as if she owed this man any kind of explanation for anything. It was true. She wasn't the Evil Queen that she used to be. Her last year in Storybrooke changed her--more than she'd ever care to admit.
"For once in my life?" Regina angrily repeated his statement in the form of a question, her sharp voice echoing through the empty walls of the palace. She toned it down after realizing just how emotional she was becoming. No, this was not her. No one ever knew how she was feeling unless she wanted them to know. "I don't know who you think you are," she paused, taking a superior step closer to him until her body was literally inches away from his. Even with her heels, she had to look up to him, only slightly. Her eyes were narrowed and full of displeasure and she made sure her voice was threatening, "but do not pretend to know me. You have no idea what I've been through. I lost everything, including my own son, because /for once in my life/, I put other peoples' needs above my own."
The former queen was close to snarling directly in the man's face, and she stayed there a moment, just looking him dead in the eyes. Regina understood his pain. She knew what it was like, wanting to keep your child safe from anything. It was a need most every parent had, and it was a need more desperate than anything. But Regina was a selfish woman. A scorned woman. A woman who couldn't care less about anyone's desires but her own.
"I told you I can't help you. So get the hell out of my palace."
