the 1st time my friend group cleared the savage tier and the 1st time we cleared weapon’s refrain ultimate for the first time, i cried. partially because of the clear tension but also just this feeling of togetherness with my closest friends. considering it was our first full clear tier, we obviously tripped and fell for a bit and there was enough frustration to be used as a new energy source but...we jumped over a big hurdle together and could laugh and smile about it in the end. so i think even if i eventually fall out of ff14, it’ll hold a solid place in my heart because in tough times and distance it helped me grow closer to my friends, who i can’t see immediately.

I can't stop thinking about yesterday

The livestream of Friday prayers was being screened in the main hub at my university, it was absolutely packed and absolutely dead silent for the 2 minutes of reflection. Many of us were wearing headscarves in solidarity, some had been given one and helped to put it on by the uni Muslim club. The tribute walls behind us were awash with words and drawings of love and unity.

It was emotional, feelings of intense sorrow but also of intense love and community. People were sharing tissues and hugs through the Imams speech. My neighbour had skipped class to see it, and you could see her gratitude towards new zealand for the overwhelming love for her community. I was sitting with her and a few other women in hijabs and niqabs, it didn't feel like we were separate. It truly felt like we were one people.

We are broken-hearted, but we are not broken. We are unbreakable. We are one.

We fail at life and didn't take any pictures this year and Kat was also missing this year, so I'll have to use a picture of us from last year. But these girl, these girls are my absolute everything. My rocks. My saviors. My family. I wouldn't be where I am today without these 3 ladies. I'm grateful for the bond we have created over the last decade. (Can you believe it's almost been that long???) we aren't just friends. Not even best friends. No, we are sisters. We are Family. And this is one Family that I hope never goes away. A Family that's forever❤️❤️❤️
