One of my workstreams is a bit of a shit show (thru no one s fault) but this week my Liverpool supporting boss is covering for a Boston partner.

Now the Boston partner had promised to send out an analysis by "mid week" which at the latest means Thursday. So today at 6.15pm when I called my boss to discuss a wrinkle, I was feeling despondent because there was no way we could finish this in time for me to go to our work drinks.

Except my boss goes "oh I have to leave by 6.45pm today why don't you get the US team to send this to me today whenever and we will send out in the morning? They will be fiiiine"

So naturally I said yes, elated to make it to drinks after all, except I got to the pub and there was my boss too. His immovable evening plans were also work drinks after all 😆

So my friend ed dropped over for a quick cup of tea after he dropped ,e home

And instead we stay up talking til practically 1 am about shit ranging from our families and home life to serial killers and books It was really nice to hang out with someone so similar to me, interests wise. Plus we are practically on the same wavelength, often calling the same terrible jokes etc. Our friends are weirded out by our similarities.
