The Studio was paying for the apartment I had when I was first drawn. When I pitched the idea of me and Doris learning from eachother, us living together made more sense to them. And after all, that woman needs me around. We all know that.

This was written in the wake of the Fukushima earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. I made a whole album dedicated to a childhood love affair with Japan. I befriended a drummer from there (Takechin) who has played on several of my songs and he gave me insight on the feelings of people close to him. Anique, who is actually Korean, lent her beautiful voice to the record so we got some world flavor on this! ✌🏾 ❤️ 🇯🇵
