Something I think is really fucked up about Mouthwashing is the dead pixel scene between Curly and Anya. This is probably a super fucking unoriginal take but hear me out.

MOUTHWASHING SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

I think the dead pixel on the screen in the lounge kind of represents Jimmy in a way.

The way Anya sees it, it's always going to be there. Now that she knows about it, it's always going to be in the corner of her mind. She knows there's something wrong with it, and can't ignore it. It ruins that comforting visual for her. She can't see it in any other light than...its just a screen. A facade.

In Curly's eyes, it's a dead pixel, yeah. But it doesn't ruin the whole image. Sure, he'll go crazy looking for it. But that doesn't mean the whole thing is bad.

The way their views on the dead pixel translate over to their opinions of Jimmy is almost frightening to me
