Almost settled
We moved! It's official! Our apartment is beautiful too! We have HUGE walk in closets and a giant ass garden tub in the master bath! And an alarm system! We definitely have less storage because we have less rooms (no offices) but we've found places for most things. We're going to buy a pantry cabinet and put it in the dining room, and that will take care of all the rest of the kitchen and cleaning stuff. We need to get rid of some glasses though cus we have way too many and nowhere to put them all.
The only other thing we don't really have a place for is all the office stuff, like my printers, paperwork, stationary, etc. We're using the desk as an entertainment center temporarily, so once we can actually use it as a desk and get a dresser so I can use the plastic drawers for storage again, that will take care of most of the issue.
But all-in-all we're like 80% done unpacking and sorting through everything, and by the end of next week we should have a washer/dryer, bed (so we can use the futon for a couch), the pantry, and a few other odds and ends.
Michael has his first set of overnight hours and he starts tomorrow. They just threw him on the schedule this week so next week will be more or less of his regular days.
And I get to go baby shopping soon! I'm SO EXCITED because I haven't been able to buy anything for Brandon except stocking up on diapers and wipes. I didn't even want to buy anything since we were moving and didn't need more crap to pack, but now that we're here I'm starting to feel a little nest-y. But it's good cus now I have something else to do to help pass the last 14 weeks or so. I'll wait until we have everything else put away before adding to the stuff though.
We're super close to the mail boxes (like one of the closest buildings to them) and they have dog stations around the complex with garbage cans and poop bags which is awesome. I also learned today that I CAN take both dogs out with Spencer alone, which is something I was kind of freaking out about. I held Spencer's hand with one and both dog leashes with the other. It wasn't the greatest but it worked. And at least for now, the Ergo is still comfortable so next time I'll just throw Spencer in that. We also have grass RIGHT outside our patio area so if Michael isn't home and I can't take the dogs for a good walk (like when Spencer is napping or when it's raining) at the very least I can let them out to pee real quick on the leashes and I don't even have to step off the patio. Getting both kids in the car alone seems like it's going to be way less stressful than I was expecting too.
Michael's first overnight is tomorrow so we've been kind of prepping in advance. I've been forcing myself to get out of bed right away (rather than staying in bed for an extra 30 minutes while Michael got Spencer up) and I actually got up, dressed, and started breakfast all before Michael really got up. He's been trying to stay up later and later so the overnight shift isn't a crazy shock to his system. I think he made it to 3 yesterday, which is quite a bit of progress considering we would be asleep by 11, 12 latest. I'm excited to get a new schedule worked out, cus like cleaning is going to take significantly less time. Like uninterrupted, I could DEFINITELY clean this whole place in a day (having all carpet helps SO much) but I'll probably space out the weekly cleaning over two days, and then have one "monthly tasks" day and one "organizing" day. I think that will work out really well since it gives me so much time to forcus on each thing even with Spencer "interrupting" me. But that'll be a whole other post once I get it down. And then of course I'll get used to it and then Michael will start the electrician apprenticeship and that'll change everything up and we'll have Brandon and that'll change it up too. Just goes to show how flexible schedules need to be and how often they should get reassessed.
I also have my Glucose Tolerance test tomorrow. Woo. But the sooner I get it out of the way the better. No point complaining cus it has to be done.

...yup! and now we're just outside of denver :D [click to make big - p. 1] [click to make big - p. 2] i've never lived outside of the east coast, so seeing the mountains in person was extremely surreal. i'm so excited to be here now and feel relieved and happy and plenty inspired to create (as opposed to being in savannah, where i felt mostly stress and anxiety and complete ennui). also, my hair is pink now. thanks for being patient with me. it's been a stressful past few weeks, but now that we're settled, expect to see more comic, art, and etcetera (especially after i land me a job).
