Double-Crossed
Requested Who: Peter Parker Prompt: “I know this may be hard to believe, but I’m on your side.”
Peter had never felt so betrayed.
He trusted her. Trusted [Y/N] with his secret. He went to her when he felt discouraged, when he needed advice, guidance in what he was doing, and someone to vent to. And the whole time he was doing that, [Y/N] was the one he was battling every night. She was the one who was preventing him from getting close to [random villain of your choosing.]
The moment he revealed her identity in that alley, it was as if his entire world had been flipped upside down. His felt a huge blow to his chest as he watched panic settle in her eyes and every time she reached out for him, he felt his insides melting. How could she? How could she use him like that? After everything they had been, everything they had done. How?
“Peter,” [Y/N] croaked out.
Whipping his head in her direction, his eyes clouding with anger and betrayal again. Standing up from his spot from across the room, he walked over towards her. Despite the emotions he still felt for her, it couldn’t mask the fact that she was a liar. Grabbing a hold of the remote that would send electrical currents through her body, he closed his eyes. “Why are you working for [villain name]?”
“Peter, please.” [Y/N] begged, “This is so much bigger than-” She screamed out in pain through gritted teeth. She deserved this.
Deep down inside, hearing her scream out in pain and knowing he was the reason behind it was slowly killing him. This wasn’t like him, but he couldn’t get over her deception. He let [Y/N] break his walls and know everything there was about him. “I’m not going to ask you again.”
Yanking on the chains that had her wrists bound, she cried out. “I can’t tell you.” Wrenching out in pain again, she blinked back tears and fell limp. Hissing through her teeth, she looked up at Peter. Shaking her head, “You...you were my mission.” Tears slid down her face as she heard him gasp. Biting her lip, she took a deep breath and looked at him again. “I was suppose to infiltrate and take you out.” Her body started to shake, “But, I became compromised when I started to like you. I couldn’t let [villain name] know you were still alive, so I did everything I possibly could to keep you from going after him.” Yanking on the chains again, she whimpered out, “I know you have no reason to believe me but I’m telling you the truth now. What he’s planning is so much bigger than you or I. I can’t let you interfere.”
Peter gritted his teeth and held his finger on the button, watching as she shook with pain. Releasing the button, he threw it to the floor. So many things were buzzing in his head that he couldn’t think straight. Running his hands through his hair, he finally realized that he couldn’t be here anymore. He couldn’t deal with the possible lies right now. Pulling out his phone, he texted Tony his current predicament. He’d let Tony deal with it. He was done with [Y/N]. It would take time but he could never trust her again. And to be honest, he didn’t even want to look at her.
He turned to walk out of the warehouse but not before he heard [Y/N] utter his name. Turning slightly to face her, she softly cried, “I know this may be hard to believe, but I’m on your side.” Sniffling, she bowed her head again, “I couldn’t let him hurt you.”
