I can see Ornstein carefully handling Artorias' greatsword because he doesn't want to do any damage. Meanwhile in the process of trying Ornstein's spear out Arty can't control his strength and either chips or cracks the blade while doing his somersaults. If looks could kill Arty would be 6 feet under with the look Orn is giving him xD. And does Arty forget things so much that Ornstein makes sure he is carrying something cause that would be cute and funny.

Yes, Ornstein is extra careful. After all, this is the weapon of his cherished friend. He couldn’t bear the thought of even scratching it.And then Artorias is like “Lol, let’s see what I can do with that spear” and he really gets a crack into it and Ornstein is shocked upon seeing it, fuming with rage. And he would clearly like to give Artorias a death stare, but I already made clear, that the other knights think, his face doesn’t look intimidating at all ^^I am not sure what you want to say with the last part. What would they carry? I guess grammar is just leaving me here. I need further explanation.

On the topic of weapon switch: Ornstein carefully tries out the sword, how he should hold it and what attacks are viable to do with it. For example, no thrusting attacks with a great sword.  Artorias just takes the dragon slayer spear and crushes it three times into the ground while doing his somersoult combo.

So I looked at the requirements for Arty and Orn's weapons and I'm surprised. Ornstein has both the strength and dexterity (24 is the minimum) to wield Artorias' greatsword (24 and 18 respectively). So assuming the Ornstein has the other requirements (20 intelligence and faith) he would be able to wield the greatsword if he was able to overcome the size cause it's at least a foot taller than him. But Arty would totally mess up with the spear because he doesn't use a light weapon like a spear XD

I am sure that Ornstein has a high faith, because his spear scales with faith and he deals massive damage with this thing. I am not so sure about the intelligence stuff, I guess this stat would be lower, cause he uses miracles and not sorceries. Thanks for looking it up by the way. I know the requirements for the dragon slayer spear, but the Artorias sword was only like “too many”.Hehe, so Artorias having trouble with a spear in my fanfiction was kinda valid xD
