The #nunchaku is a simple weapon made of 2 sticks connected by a chain or string.
Contrary to popular belief, this weapon is not used for self defense but demonstrations only. It's in fact a very bad choice for self defese due to it's capacity for damage both to the agressor and the holder. Nunchakus tend to bounce back after hitting something, making it hard to control in a real life scenario. For this reason, we have never seen nunchakus in the arsenal of any police or military forces in the world.
As of October 2021, most US states allow the possession of nunchakus. It is only restricted in California and Massachusetts, except in martial arts schools. Nunchakus became popular after its use in Bruce Lee's movies. People believed the nunchakus were very dangerous, and it's also likely that they were hurting themselves while trying to perform Bruce Lee's moves. That explains the ban in some states.
