Thanks everyone for the kind words today on my promotion. If you don't know what I'm talking about you can read all about it here (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=54102). I thought my friend Hannah Nance Partlow's screen print (above) summed up how I feel about it. It's great to be recognized for your hard work, it'd be foolish to think I got here on my own. The amazing thing about BOOM! is that there's an entire team of people who have my back every day and make it easy for me to succeed at what I do. I'm really grateful for all of their help, ideas, and inspiring creativity every day. I'm especially grateful to Ross Richie for being #relentless in getting me to come over to BOOM! two years ago. I've learned a ton from every mentor I've had in the business - guys like Tom Sadowski, Eric Beck, Jim Kuhoric, John Wurzer, Bill Schanes, Matt Hawkins, and Marc Silvestri - some lessons came easily, others were harder earned, & others still I didn't appreciate until years later. The one thing Ross does that has had a profound effect on me as a leader and employee is he comes in every day and asks himself what he could be doing to raise his game personally. It in turn pushes everyone on his management team to do the same and on down the line it goes. He's really shown me how much team unity, strength, and vision come from the top. Thanks for the opportunity, boss. Much appreciated.

I made the decision two years ago to leave a position I loved as Publisher at Top Cow to come work at BOOM! Studios. It's always nerve wracking to make a big life change like that, but ultimately it's proven to be a great decision for me and my family. And apparently I was practicing some #activegratitude even then.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of BOOM! Studios acquiring Archaia. It was a huge undertaking to incorporate an entire company into ours, but a year later I couldn't be prouder of how our team welcomed, learned from, and shared their knowledge and gifts with each other. Today we took an hour to celebrate and look back on the last 12 months of accomplishments. I was really struck as I put together the presentation looking back at the last year just how much we'd accomplished. It really is amazing what you can accomplish when you have a group of like minded people with unique talents all moving towards a single goal. Very grateful today for my team.
