I had a really great time being interview by @cbc's @nanaabaduncan in the correlations I've noticed between Soca from The Islands and Afrobeats from The Continent and how beautiful it is to see both the genres and the people those genres represent coming together on dancefloors all over Toronto, Canada and the World. New York Carnival Monday! I hope all of Brooklyn is enjoying themselves. All this time so last Monday I was sitting back reminiscing on the damage the #WeAreGumbo crew had done the night before at Afropunk. It's hard to put the night into words. Luckily I don't have to. #tbt This past Sunday night when #WeAreGumbo closed off #afropunk Brooklyn 2017 in melanin drenched fashion. Shouts to @chinedesign @djrevy_b @iamanaisb @wanluvxo @iam_stephane_b and @zatakiwon for feeding the Afropunk crowd that energy they were yearning for. Been spinning for over a quarter century and last Sunday makes my Top 10 list of parties I've ever spun at EASILY. The energy exchanged between the crowd and the selectors was 🔥🔥🔥What a phenomenal night! Thank you Brooklyn! Thank you to every Torontonian that was in the building! Thank you!!!
