There was a soft knock on Cole's door, and Quinn waited. This was the first place he went to after shedding the guards... and the hexblade felt he at least owed it to Cole to see him. He nearly raised a hand to cast an illusion and hide the general grime and blood and scars, but the door opened before he could.

Cole almost shut the door, slamming it would feel nice, probably, slapping Quinn, now, that would feel great, but instead he gestured for Quinn to come in. Cole’s movements were jerky, none of the normal confidence remained in his body, this barely was the Cole everyone knows, anyone could tell that. Or rather, this is the Cole almost no one knows, which was it? Quinn can’t tell. “I see you’re out now. Talk.”
