Twitter making moves..?
Music, Analytics, Spaces, Search and more… While many wait with baited breath over the forthcoming music, I would suggest that Twitter’s aqui-hired tastes appear to be setting up a unique palate of flavours for the 2nd course of the ‘great’ social network war.
Please excuse my triple barreled pun, but I do find it amusing to speculate that all this work is at the expense of taking on #fb and offering a truly complete alternative, because it certainly wouldn’t be Path.
Stickers and hashtags aside, the pusbook platform does stand alone. Regardless whether you hate it or not, it is as comprehensive a monster as it comes.
How long have you had an account? If you can admit to it…ī have to admit to two now.
Wearehunted why did you sell out to twitter? Their stupid app is the worst!
Music is my hot, hot, sex claim some. I'm sure others claim stuff about music too, but I think we can all agree that it's nice to have music in our lives.
That being said, you need to try out Twitter's new music streaming app called - wait for it - #music. The new service uses Twitter activity, including tweets and other engagement, to detect the most popular tracks and emerging artists. It also allows you to share the tracks and follow the artists easily. And the more you use the service, as well as tweet and follow artists on Twitter, the better it will get at delivering the music you want to hear.
In order to pull this off, #music let's you listen to 30-second iTunes clips (boring) or link your Spotify or Rdio accounts for full streaming (boo-yeah).
Oh and obviously #music is nice to look at. Similar in style to the popular We Are Hunted, which is no coincidence, since Twitter acquired them sometime in 2012, #music uses a mosaic of artist's Twitter avatars to display its playlist.
Download the iOS app here or listen on the web.
Fitz and the Tantrums - Out of My League
Their last album shot them into stardown and this new single doesn't disappoint. Sounding like the past, but ever relevant to the present, this song is fantastic!
