Yesterday was a good day as I finished @fred_nicole's legendary Monkey Wedding (V15). A boulder that I had tried and got close to doing already many years ago, I'd kept it aside as one of the last remaining climbs for me in Rocklands after an unfortunate series of skin issues. Today, years later, the boulder has seen 7 ascents before me. Feels good to complete a climb I started such a long time ago, but crossing one last climb off my list also marks the end of an era for me in Rocklands. The Hurl of Great Price' | Barn Canyon, UT | 📸: @jefftheclimber Man, would you look at this thing?! Pure perfection, in my opinion. This rock is simply amazing and contains some of the coolest holds I've ever seen. And to add to that, the movement is also super top notch! So syked to have taken it down in such a short amount of time last night. I can't believe it took me this long to get around to trying this one. 'Sundial' | Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah Thanks to some awesome directions from my friend, @trigbeast, I got to climb this amazing newer boulder problem, put up by @lillaspindel, yesterday in LCC. It sits high up on a hill away from everything, with gorgeous views of the canyon. This one is very atypical for the area in that you do some bigger moves in between some pretty dang good holds. It was rad to climb that kind of style in LCC! It doesn't come often. Most of the time your dealing with tricky little subtleties and loads of micro beta, but not this one! It's very straight forward and more strength dependent than it is technical. 'Bronson Arête' | Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT | 📸: Frame Grab| Edit: @jefftheclimber Finally did it! I’ve been obsessed with sending this thing for the past three weeks and it’s been on my mind for a whole lot longer! Five sessions total I think; one of the longest processes I’ve had. But what was weird is how easy it felt on the send go. When I topped out I was not even close to surprised. Maybe it was because I had done the moves so many times or maybe I expected it too much, who knows and who cares! I did it! And just in time before it rained. Thank goodness I don’t have to stress about doing it before the end of the season anymore. Time to head further up the canyon!
