There were no ice-creams, no nations, no chocolates, no sex, no cities, no planes,
no Edison. But, there was light and we all were shining.
I don't know what shape we had, what was our color, what did we smell like, and what was happening around us. I only know that we all were shining.
There was no movie to watch, no song to sing, no hanging out, no parties,
not even a memory to remember.
We just kept shining; brighter and brighter.
Centuries passed by.
And one day, we got covered. We must have been wishing for these coverings.
Some of the coverings were in the shape of humans. Some were in the shape of pigs. Some were in the shape of tress. And so on...
We thought of many things. We ended up doing few of them.
Now, we have ice-creams. Some of us have more, some of us have less. And many of us don't have it. But we all have the desire to fulfill our taste buds.
Now, we have nations. Some are strong and rich. Some are weak and poor. But we all have the urge to be stronger.
Now, we have chocolates. Some of us eat expensive ones. Some of us eat cheaper ones. And many of us are unlucky; because they only get to lick the chocolate wrappers. But we all have the hope to be luckier.
Now, we have sex. Some of us have it on streets. Some of us have it in suite rooms of luxurious hotels. And some of us prefer to be celibate. But we all seek to please our senses.
These coverings have given us all those lovely things which were absent. Not only that but they have also made us different from each others. And not only the humans but the pigs, trees and all of us in spite of the uncommon coverings possess common potentials to love, to hate, to let go, to control. The reason behind such common qualities must be to remind us that we had a common history - We all were shining.
If the history repeats, we all will be shining again without ice creams, without nations.
