It's partly that my driveway faces north and this one was approaching from the southwest.

But also, Florida thunderstorms pop up pretty quick. It's a peninsula, so as the land heats up during the day, the rising air draws hot, moist air in from the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico, which meet right over the middle and just... sit there. Then when the air starts cooling off in the afternoon, the moisture condenses out and forms clouds, which 9 times out of 10 develop into full-fledged thunderstorms very quickly.

They also tend to be short lived, and extremely muggy afterwards. It's like a suana -- literally; a relatively small amount of water dumped onto hot rocks pavement = essentially 100% humidity for the rest of the night.

So even though this storm's almost past already, I'm still not going outside. Just... NOPE.

there is no actual drought in illinois right now, we're doing quite well. perhaps ... TOO well???????? tho it isnn't raining up in sauganash atm, just kinda cloudy, idk about other parts atm

(no seriously tho idk yet if this is gonna be too much rain or if it'll be OK, harvest-wise, haha. fuckin' a)
