The James Craft weather diary, soon available in full on HSP’s digital library. Amateur meteorologist James Craft lived in Burlington, NJ and kept this diary from 1796-1800. He took note of wind direction, measurements from his thermoscope, and descriptions of the sky and birds. He also makes mention of local events, deaths, marriages, and many weather-related bible verses.
