Tomadachi update: Weatherroses had an ugly ass baby I editted her tho its ok. Named her after the sun!
So, this is a ramble about both weather girl and water the roses I feel like these two songs have the same feelings behind, both gumi and eleanor have that same longing about wanting someone to notice them, to give them their love, but it isn't happening.
the thing is that these two go about it in different ways, like, they're both affected but eleanor seems to be more affected in her actions than her words, she doesn't say much about her feeling bad, yes, she does say that the sky is filled with clouds but doesnt say much more, but her whole life is literally blue, it's clear she's sad. Meanwhile, gumi says that shes sad, that she's desperate to hear the other person, her partner, but she looks apathetic somehow, yes, she's going trough a bad time but her sadness isn't as noticeable as eleanor.
And then comes how they deal about it.
eleanor tries to change or at least wants to change. See, Weathergirl and weatherbane do sound kinda similar, so much that the first times i heard the song i confused the two, in this case "Living as a weatherbane" Is living as she will if she keeps like this, she imagines the person keeping on ignoring her whil she just stands to the sides. she doesn't like that life. So she goes to try and change and be a "hurricane" something bigger, destructive, attention catching. Eleanor is willing to change just to try and get the other person to see her. Gumi does not change. Or at least not anymore. It seems like she insteads tries or tried to beg the other, she did not change, but still wanted to catch the attention of the other, but now it just seems resignated, she has given up on trying to cacht her attentio and now is just waiting for her to come back, if she ever does but gumi isnt trying anymore.
at the end eleanor seems to realize that its useless to try and get the other person to notice her. Now both gumi and eleanor are kinda in the same place, but they still go about it differently, eleanor is not ready to just leaver her love behind, so she just hopes for a brighter future where she can. But gumi is ready-ish to let go, so she hopes for a brighter future where she can find a better relationship.
The thing that i was thinking is that maybe gumi was a weathergirl and maybe eleanor will end up watering the roses. It's hinted that gumi tried to do something so i think the songs could be a before and after of someone, first, she tried to change herself fore her love but then time taught her that itr wasn't good to do that, so now, she tries, but not changes, and she still hopes for a brighter future, one where her love is correctly coresponded.
I'm sorry if this doesnt makes sense at times or it just reads weird, i needed to get this out of my head
Peak analysis, I have the same interpretation!! I love how they parallel each other
