Really enjoying the Textures
experimenting a bit with looseness
I luv the weavers on tumblr. You're so kind and encouraging and supportive and excited to see what other people are doing.
I'm about to pick a god of weaving and make a sacrifice If I have to undo threading this rigid heddle one more fucking time I'm going to launch it and then myself into the sun
I'm starting a new weaving project!
Do you recognize the stripes?
It's been a long time coming, but I finally have a project on a bigger loom than my sampleit. Hoping to get 2 squares and a narrow runner out of this, if all goes to plan.
Pattern: Bloom Table Squares by Gist Yarn.
(Image ID: the start of an overshot weaving project on a table loom. The pattern is formed by thick green cotton yarn on a background of brown linen.)
Okay so idc where you're from irl, here on Tumblr we are all denizens of The Internet and some of us are hella crafty with the simmering spirit of a revolutionary buried deep beneath layers of well-knit sweaters.
Watch this video and spread it around, if you spin, try and remind the modern world what a spindle looks like and do it in public as much as possible.
Have conversations. Join a local guild and try to organize a stronger push for public flash mob style spin-ins.
Occupy space.
Weavers! I have just so much 10/2 mercerized cotton and from what I've seen (and experienced from having to wash it) it isn't the best for making towels which was pretty much my first and only thought
I'd love any ideas of usage/ tips for weaving with it!
