tracking progress on this hanui braid 𓆈
there was this post that lives rent-free in my mind where a commenter mentioned some man at a ren faire saying that people "back then" couldn't make super thin thread because the machines for them hadn't been invented yet. despite that the commentor was CLEARLY spinning thread on a spindle.
and like if i can spin thin ass yarn without even having really planned to ahead of time, after only a year and change of spinning, then i think your ancestor brunhilda who's been spinning since she was old enough to understand and execute instructions can probably spin threads you cannot even begin to imagine.
Samples from the 8lbs of raw wool I received in the mail this week! Eeeeek so excited. Romney crossbreed fleeces from Lopez Island, WA.
Posing with my yarn like a Man and his Fish
This is my biggest spin yet! She’s 8 oz of Merino wool turned into a 348 yard, 11 WPI masterpiece! She has a few pig tails in her skein but I’m working with a drop spindle and nothing else at the moment so I’m incredibly proud of this yarn.
Now to find out what to make with it!
uh. uhhhhh. excuse me??? excuse me?? lap is occupied by spinning? no space for cat?? do you mind???
(cat, of course, does not care. always space for cat.)
