So, a while after Plunderland IV came out, @rockabirdie mentioned an archery game with mingo arrows would be fun. "Hey", I told myself "I know how to do that! I did a videogame course so I could escape graduate from university! This should be fun." and then proceeded to procrastinate until a week before the episode came out for free but that's not the point lol
We discussed a few possible mechanics with other patreon discord members and, after consulting with one of my friends who's actually good at coding, Mingo Archery was born. Unfortunately, we were unable to actually make the game, but I did make an interactive mockup in figma (basically a prototype/ugly version of the game), and this is the result:
Mingo Archery works like this: In all levels you gotta click to shoot the arrows within a time limit. You can move the arrow horizontally with your mouse, and control the strength with which you shoot the arrow by clicking for a longer or shorter time. The goal is to get a higher score every time you play. You can get extra points from sugar packets if the arrow hits them.
Easy mode centers around Prunella and has her strawberry arrows from Plunderland I. It’s more like a tutorial of sorts where the target stays in place.
Medium mode is Wave’s. The arrow is now a Mingo that moves from one side to another on their own, which affects the trajectory of the arrow unpredictably. The target stays in place because Wave’s character is an archer in the story.
Hard mode is Deacon’s. Now not only does the Mingo move around, but the target moves too because Deacon's got AO3 curse despite not choosing AO3 as his first publishing option like a normal person.
You can interact with the mockup here. Hope y'all enjoy it! ^^
