This is the website of Jenna Sutela.

I really enjoy visiting this site, there is a lot of dynamic content sitting within the endless scroll, it is a great site for keeping viewers up to date on current projects. A lot of her text is animated to appear on the screen as you scroll past it, again I really enjoy the dynamism all of this creates, the website reveals itself in the viewers presence which make its symbolically special.
Sutela works with ‘living’ media such as sounds, words and bacteria. The last image reveals a project Sutela worked on which used AI as a channelling medium for a particular type of bacteria which potentially may have come from Mars. Her work is out there and experimental, working within the intersection of science and art the multidisciplinary nature adheres greatly with the website design.
Fixed image position - Again a really effective tool to create a website that occupies one page and must contain a lot of information.
Mouse Hover - A custom mouse hover works really well here and looks like bacteria in a petri dish.
Font - Her branding is on point, she uses the same font in her works and also on her site.
Careful Curation - Generally Sutela has 1-2 images of each project, there are 5/6 projects visible on the site, the limiting of content actually works really well it means you have to go and seek her work somewhere else - the lack of work online makes me want to go out into the world and find her work in person. It seems to create a bubble of exclusivity around Sutela’s oeuvre.
