Reflections on my sister’s wedding

I’m queuing this down the road for privacy, but there are a few things about my sister’s wedding I want to save if I ever find Mr. T and this seems like a good place for it. 

maid of honor dress being a different color: when we got the dress I thought this was sweet of her but worried I’d be getting more attention than I particularly wanted BUT actually was super helpful for vendors the day of because it was clear I was the MOH so they could identify me easily & didn’t have to try to remember my face/name 

LUNCH. make sure to figure out some kind of lunch for bridal party day of.

I’m 100% doing a first look and trying to get as many pictures as possible done before. 

avoid a venue where there will be multiple weddings going on all at once if possible

a wedding planner seems like a good investment in hindsight so you don’t spend the day of the rehearsal dinner dealing with vendors & to have someone who is not the MOH decide when to tell bride there might be an issue [which is resolved and perfectly fine 15 mins after you tell the bride ofc] 

The best times were the times post ceremony during cocktail hour when it was just my sister, my brother in law, me and my cousin and our parents. definitely try to include a little family moment before the required socializing at the reception

He was in tears before he even saw the bride. Our parents did the reading. Both got choked up. Our house was filled with so much love tonight with well-wishers coming in and out. I'm glad they were able to do this. Even if it was different, even if I was annoyed with the timing, everything happened exactly as it was supposed to.
