Santa Clara, Wilcox Players Shine In Wedemeyer Classic
The Santa Clara and Wilcox football teams were well represented at the 47th Annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Game on Feb. 5. The Chargers, who came one win shy of a state title, had seven players named to the North team: Aliejah Diaz, Luther Glenn, Charlie Carlson, Pace Nelson, DJ Aguirre, Erik Baez and Keishawn Ford. Diaz was one of five players named co-captain of the North team.
In high school Christina was nominated for a scholarship awarded by the CW Foundation(click title for link). The scholarship is awarded annually to local high school athletes who compete with a disability. There are some amazing stories of inspiring athletes beating the odds at such a young age.

Founded in 1993, the Charlie Wedemeyer Family Outreach is a Christian nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight ALS. Birthed out of the Wedemeyers’ personal struggles in dealing with this terrible illness, the goal of CWFO is to offer hope to other ALS patients and their families by raising funds, by increasing awareness, and by way of example. CWFO is also committed to motivate youth to reach their full potential.
