Honda HP-X Concept, 1984. The Honda Pininfarina eXperimental was a prototype for a mid-engined supercar powered by a 2-litre V6 engine. There were no doors; instead, it had a single-piece Perspex acrylic canopy that lifted up for entry, similar to a fighter jet. It was Honda's first dedicated concept car and was one of the first vehicles to utilise carbon fibre, Kevlar, and honeycomb panelling to minimise weight and increase rigidity. When Honda revealed their first supercar in 1990 (the NSX), it looked nothing like this.
