Do you miss anything

so much, all the time. versions of myself. moments of life i wish i could relive. bits of relationships at their most perfect state. bites of food. the feeling of reading something beautiful for the first time.

if i had to pinpoint one, i miss little else on this earth as much as my assna bar in its crystallized moment (somewhere around 2018). i miss walking in on any random saturday and having at least two or three people i was so glad to see already there.

if you could do anything again for the first time what would it be?

ohhh, this is a great question. again bc i want to relive that experience? seeing real madrid play live with my dad. again bc i wish i had done things differently? my entire post-undergrad life. i would've been braver. i would've gone to grad school this time, despite it all. i would've found a way.

who would have been your ideal world cup winner?

generally, i would've loved to have seen a colombia team find their brilliance and magic again. a healthy james, a clever juanfer with someone to finalize off his passes, a lucho with legs & lungs again. i think the defense was pretty solid this time around, but they were just missing that pass, that spark, that sudden miracle that they made happen in 2014. i wish they'd gotten to dance more.

in this world cup specifically? cabo verde has my heart. players i did not know the names of a month will live in my memory forever. vozinha, untouchable. lopes cabral, dazzling in absolute glory. kevin pina's gorgeous free kick v. uruguay. giants who genuinely made me believe in them solely by the sheer power of their will & play. i...have become more embittered to football in recent times and they lit me up from within. that game was the best of the tournament and not even the result can change that.
