December 15, 2017 Today it’s snowing and the streets are just covered in a winter wonder cluster fuck. Excuse my language. But today I went to the post office to pick up a Christmas parcel my penpal from Scotland sent me. I’m so happy and feel full of love and excitement. Those gifts you see are presents from her trip to Hong Kong. It’s funny, because we both went to china within the same month time frame. But as you know Hong Kong and China itself is still different. She went to visit her family while I went to visit my best friend for her special day. Sadly we couldn’t see one another. But we talk almost every day besides our letters and this is my first Christmas doing an exchange with a gal pal. I feel even more excited over the holidays. Just having friends around the world who care enough to write me a letter is well enough. But to put together a parcel with gifts just means a lot. I’m not materialistic at all. But I know my wee friend worked hard putting this all together and it makes me so happy and loved in every way. Friendships with others around the world could mean more to you than you would ever know. I’m closer to most of my foreign gal pals than my actual friends. We just have these special bonds. I’m so grateful for getting back into penpaling this past year with real written letters. Now I have to wait til Christmas Day to open her gifts because we both said we would wait and make videos of our reactions. Hope everyone is enjoying life with everyone they love close near them and afar too. Keep in mind to take care of yourself not only physically but mentally too.
