baraou no souretsu (requiem of the rose king), despite an animation budget somewhere around $12.99, is one of my favorite anime in a while. sure, "richard the third has dysphoria" doesn't exactly sound like the best story premise, but somehow it is. the manga it's adapted from apparently has beautiful art and doesn't suffer from the quality problems of the anime, but the anime has pretty good music and the best va they could have chosen to voice an intersex character (mitsuki saiga). the story does, from the little i know, roughly follow english history, but with excellent psychological depth and very solid writing. if any of that sounds remotely interesting, do go check it out! (either the anime or the manga)

i’m literally out of this world at shinsou coming back to us. thank you, horikoshi-sensei. i already had my meltdowns at work because i read the chapter in the bathroom while crying from joy but. oh my god. he’s finally here. he’s finally ready to show us the fruits of his labor. i’m so proud of him and i thank horikoshi-sensei for my life

can someone smack me the next time i forget that the mp100 anime is a thing? i just suddenly remembered how absolutely fucking gorgeous it is and almost cried. i need to rewatch it and get it permanently burned into my retinas

the pop team epic anime is honestly so fucking fascinating to follow. like. it’s got several stylistically different kinds of animation used. it uses different male AND female pairs of voice actors for popuko and pipimi every single week. fucking bob team epic. everything about it is just such a solid experience of “what the bloody hell is going on”. and i started watching it while i was delirious with a fever, which definitely didn’t help my “am i watching the right anime” experience at the beginning of the first episode. and the fact that they keep that gag RUNNING by reminding us with the next week preview every goddamned time. god

everyone’s like “omg the reigen ova is gonna be the separation arc” BUT. NO. i can’t let studio bones release an animated separation arc until after animated mogami arc. it doesn’t have the same oomph to it if it isn’t immediately following the awfulness that is the mogami arc.

besides i heard rumors that it’s a recap of mp100 s1 from reigen’s perspective which is 100% okay with me because it has no reason to exist without s2 being in production and on its way. like why would they bother making a recap if not as an introduction to a new season? bnha did it, too.
