Runaway
As I walk along, I wonder A-what went wrong with our love A love that was so strong
Dean walked down the road, looking down. John was still hustling at a bar and Dean was just walking, thinking about Sammy. He didn’t know what happened. They were so in love and happy. Then Sam left to Stanford, leaving Dean there to face a world of darkness and evil alone.
And as I still walk on, I think of The things we’ve done together While our hearts were young.
Dean smiled at the memory of little Sammy kissing him after a long day of research (on his end) and school (for Sam, Dean had dropped out). His beautiful perfect baby brother used to be so full of life and so happy. He probably still was, but he wasn’t Dean’s anymore. He was probably some other guy’s. Someone that didn’t know how to take care of him right. How to love him right.
I’m a-walkin’ in the rain Tears are fallin’ and I feel the pain Wishin’ you were here by me To end this misery.
Tears started spilling down his cheeks as rain did. No. Dean Winchester didn’t cry. He didn’t let any emotion get to him. He didn’t let memories of his baby brother/love of his life leaving him and not even asking him to follow. If he had, Dean would have. No fucking doubt.
I wonder I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder Why Why, why, why, why, why She ran away.
Dean didn’t know why. For the life of him he couldn’t understand why Sam left him without saying ‘goodbye’ or ‘I love you’.
And I wonder Where she will stay My little runaway A-run, run, run, run, runaway.
Dean sighed in resignation and walked back to the motel. He knew that Sammy would for ever be Dean’s little runaway.
