another season arrives as we are now officially located in our second home of LOS ANGELES, CA!! but with another season comes dancers and non-dancers old and new to take the stage alongside familiar faces at the judging panel, creating the spicest season yet! BUT WITH NEW BEGINNINGS COMES NEW DANCES...
and what a better way to start this season of than with a guest performance by our very own SEASON ONE WINNER and JUDGE; KATERINA PETROVA, giving a stunning display of fairytale wonder and love in the form of her song AFTERLIFE.
but from afterlifes to rebirths it is time to get to know not only our EIGHT PAIRS but also our NEWEST CO-HOST AND JUDGE; starlight alumni’s EMERSON CLARKE and OLIVER LEE, as they provide not only the fun but the harsh truths.
BUT WHAT IS HARSHER THAN A CRITIQUE? BEING A QUEEN... as our first pair of KENDRA CARTER & TRACI NICOLAS brought out the fire and flames (alongside some thrones) with an intense introduction PASO DOBLE. but with new judges comes tougher scores as they received EIGHTEEN OUT OF THIRTY for their first ever dance of the competition.
FROM HARSH BEGINNING TO MEMORABLE TUNES... the returning dancer of FRANKIE HERNANDEZ has brought alongside a rather stunning BENTLEY HENDRIX to perform a smooth DISCO to slide their way over to a reasonable SEVENTEEN OUT OF THIRTY.
OLD FAVORITES TO POTENTIALLY NEW FAVORITES, THIS TEAM SEEMS TO BE A CROWD PLEASER... as SAM MANGJEOL & CALEB MICKAELSON performed a crowd pleasing TANGO to the audiences delight.
but for favorites, they still yet to be fully determined judging by the newst judges comments;
yet they came out with a high as they moved into the current FIRST PLACE SPOT with TWENTY OUT OF THIRTY.
AT THE HALF WAY MARK OF THE DANCES, IT ALMOST FEELS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THAT NO ONE HAS FAILED YET... RIGHT? unfortunately for our new pair of HARPER THOMAS & JESSE CARTER those fears of failure came to a head with their HIP HOP number only receiving THIRTEEN OUT OF THIRTY, the lowest of the night so far. BUT FROM EVERY LOW COMES AN INCREDIBLE HIGH... as we returned to the second half of the programme with an upbeat HIP HOP number from our newest pair of ROWAN LEE MICHAELS & DESTINY CHU with a sensible score of NINETEEN OUT OF THIRTY.
CONTINUING THE HIGH STREAK WITH HOPE... is another returning dancer in the form of MADELINE FOSTER alongside a twice her height partner in LOGAN MCKIN providing fun and excitement in their QUICKSTEP number giving them a SEVENTEEN OUT OF THIRTY for the road.
AS WE SLOW THINGS DOWN FOR THE WEEK... its important to know that the pair of MELODY LEWIS & BASHER KANG stole the show with their impressive CONTEMPORARY number, bringing themselves in as strong competitors with a solid TWENTY TWO OUT OF THIRTY stealing the lead position from SAM & CALEB.
WITH ONE FINAL DANCE, IT WAS TIME TO BRING UP THE MOOD... as our last pair of KIARA PEARSON & JESSICA BISHOP sparked up the dance floor with a JAZZ routine unlike any other, giving them a well reasonable score of TWENTY OUT OF THIRTY, tying with SAM & CALEB.
BUT NOT EVERYTHING CAN ALWAYS BE HAPPY AS SPARKS WILL FLY WITH THE FIRST EVER ELIMINATION AS WELL AS THE CELEBRATION OF QUEENS OF POP!!
