Evening Sewing Workshops - Sewing Lingerie (Shorts and Camisole Set) - starts Thurs, 6th Oct
Want to try your hand at sewing Lingerie? We have a sweet set of shorts and camisole for you to sew in linen. You will be able to choose your fabric, colour and size to suit you.
These evening workshops over 4 weeks will show you how to sew pull on, elastic waist pair of shorts with a lace trim and pockets and a matching loose fit camisole to complete the set.
The workshops are suitable for people who have an intermediate to advanced level of sewing. You need to have used a sewing machine before to be able to complete these workshops.
Week 1 – Preparation and cutting
This session is to get you ready to be able to make the shorts and camisole. You will learn how to prepare and layout your fabric, reading your pattern and how to cut efficiently.
Week 2 – Sewing the shorts
In this session you will start sewing the shorts including how to add the lace trim and making pockets.
Week 3 – Completing the shorts, starting the camisole
This session will be to complete the sewing of the shorts – adding the elastic and finishing the hems. You will also start sewing of the camisole, adding the lace trim and sewing the darts.
Week 4 – Sewing the camisole
In this session you will complete the sewing of the camisole, completing the straps and hems.
All patterns and fabrics will be provided. We also provide pins, threads and scissors but feel free to bring along your own equipment if you have.
We encourage people to bring their own domestic sewing machine so we can show you how to use it better.
Please note that some of the workshops will be conducted without air con.
Bio
Anneliese Helmy has worked in the fashion industry for more than 18 years primarily as a pattern maker. Her last 10 years have been spent cutting, sewing and fitting couture wedding gowns, first for some of Sydney’s top designers and now in Cambodia for her own boutique Anne Noelle Bridal.
Workshop Details
Date / Time – Thursday 6th October (Preparation and cutting), Thursday 13th October (Sewing the shorts), Thursday 20th October (Completing the shorts, starting the camisole), Thursday 27th October (Sewing the camisole) from 6pm - 8pm
Fee – US$100 for all workshops including materials. (US$50 paid on registration, US$50 paid on the day of the first workshop)
Target participants – Suitable for intermediate and advanced sewers. You need to have used a sewing machine before to be able to complete this workshop.
