not saying I live in middle earth, but I've never seen middle earth and cape town in the same place at the same time 👀🫶
Went for a drive through downtown then down the southern shore today and stopped into the jigger (newfy food restaurant) & its sooo good
I got the turkey club and my bf got the fish platter which has a large piece of cod, scallops, shrimp and chips (its huge we shared the chips lol)
many of you are probably looking at it like tf it looks kinda gross, it doesnt look pretty 😂 but its good, and if youre wondering the chips have dressing and gravy on them. Dressing is a newfy thing, its kind of like stuffing. Its breadcrumbs and melted butter and savoury (a newfy herb/spice) and sometimes onions mixed together. We put it on top of fries with fish n chips.
& yes A LOT of newfy food is a heartattack on a plate, y'all should see salt meat lol, its literally pork surrounded by fat and salted to DEATH, and then cooked by boiling. We eat it with jiggs dinner, you literally like pick the meat out from inbetween the fat 😂😂
