gonna start this weekend with this thriller 🔑
May 1, 2020
An hour left in the day! I started this an hour after My Dark Vanessa. It is a book I am reading for the weekend read-a-thon. I've only gotten 23 pages in because I ate dinner and decided I needed to paint my nails immediately.
It's a beast, but I have heard such great things about it, so I am excited.
I think I'm going to have my own little read-a-thon this weekend since I have no real plans.
I'm thinking that I'm going to try and get through:
The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
And maybe
Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
Emma by Jane Austen
I'm also hoping to start:
House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski
I'll update my progress as the weekend progresses, and feel free to read along! I'd love to see what everyone is reading.
48 Hour Readathon 🦋
July edition of this readathon will be this weekend which is 8th and 9th July 2023 and would love it if any of you would like to join in with me! As usual I'll be posting my reading progress and using the tag #48 hour readathon throughout the weekend. I don't have any rules, just gonna read as much as I can and going to follow my own timezone so feel free to follow yours.
Happy Reading! 🦋
48 Hour Readathon Wrap Up 🦋
i went slow and read short books over longer ones during this readathon:
The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley
Rating: 3.5/5 stars
a slow mystery surrounding a building filled with rich people and a woman looking for her missing brother
Basil and Oregano by Melissa Capriglione
Rating: 4/5 stars
a graphic novel set in a magic culinary school and following a cute sapphic couple
Unknown Caller by Lisa Unger
Rating: 3/5 stars
a novella about a crisis helpline worker who keeps getting weird calls
Currently reading:
The Island of Monsters by Ellen Oh
60% into this middle grade spooky novel about ghost hunters (it's the second book in the series)
This was more low-key because I've reached my mid year slump era where i just read to read and not for fun. I'm gonna take a little break before I pick my next book
Next readathon comes in October 🦋
