Having a Watermelon Margarita in my newest Fuck It Bucket picked up today at Tractor Supply. Isn’t it adorable?!
I stopped in to pick up a de-matting comb cuz LePoof started shedding and I thought I was keeping up with it but now she’s got mats everywhere. Sixx and I have been brushing and combing her everyday trying to get them out but she’s SO fluffy!!! It’s like they’re never ending! She is 4 years old and has NEVER had a mat before. I don’t know what the hell happened this year. So we work on them until she’s fed up with us. The other two cats - perfectly fine
So anyways I’m at tractor supply paying $23 for a FUCKING COMB (!) when I spotted the tiny buckets and thought to myself “these are perfect for cocktails!” and bought four.
I also spotted lots of baby chicks and almost came home with those too (they were so cute!) but then responsible husband pointed out I’d just be buying dinner for the feral porch ladies, and that’d be a nightmare so I did not buy any baby chickens today.
Picked up my new meds. Oh joy. Yup they’re changing em up again. So now I’ll be on one that causes joint pain and brain fog and the new one causes muscle pain and brain fog. Yay! I can barely complete a thought as it is.
We did a bunch of other stuff but I never did get to the baking. There’s always tomorrow though. I did make a vat of guacamole before the avocados went bad.
So now I guess I should make another drink and take all my evening medications. I’m ready to get comfy and watch a movie

It’s been a pretty quiet weekend, wet and rainy through the day yesterday. We had plans to go out for dinner last night with friends, but they’re sick, and F is on the edge of a head cold so it was rescheduled (again). Instead, the husband went to the football (to see his team get demolished), F and I watched Zoolander, and I finished reading Careless People.
Today is similar - but at least the sun has been out (still suddenly cold though).
The second job interview on Thursday went well, it was just “an informal chat” and an opportunity to ask questions. He seemed impressed with the questions I came up with. I feel like I might be one of two or three final candidates? I guess we’ll see if I hear anything early next week. There were a couple of other similar roles advertised elsewhere that came up on Friday, so there’s still opportunities out there.
A couple of days ago I felt like apologising for sharing photos of my art stuff, then I felt silly for feeling like that. Because fuck it, why shouldn’t I share stuff that I’m proud of? Or even the stuff I’m not proud of, so I can see how my skills and interests change.
I dry salt-cured some homegrown olives, and they’re the most delicious and rich olives I’ve ever tasted. Bought more salt today and I’ll pick the last of them (with the husband’s help), because the birds and possums have been making short work of them. Yesterday at one point, there were 3 or so King Parrots, 6-7 Crimson Rosellas, 2-3 Eastern Rosellas, a couple of Noisy Miners, and a Pied Currawong.
he and I took a little visit to the lake today
and the water and fresh air felt soooo good 😌
now I am getting sooooo sleepy while he plays Magic The Gathering with friends a few feet away
