THE CHIPPIES AND I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷
Alvin’s got a floordrobe. These aren’t all his clothes, a lot are still in the closet. These provide something fast for him to grab in case he’s running late or there’s an emergency and he’s gotta take over. (Alvin helps me a lot during storms.)
And technically it’s off the floor, I guess. It was originally a pile, but Simon made us move it because he figured the pile would keep growing unless it was somewhat contained.
ALVIN 2.0: Growing like the Tyrannosaurus Debt!
SIMON: Stop taking every opportunity to reference a Schoolhouse Rock song.
THEODORE: Neither of you ever learn. 🙄
ALVIN 2.0: The floordrobe lives!
SIMON: This is a bad idea.
ALVIN 2.0: No it isn’t!
Can you guys please motivate me to get the lineart and color done for the Schoolhouse Rock album?
You can do it!
Go, Alvin, go!
It’ll be AMAZING!
Start drawing, dude!
So excited to see it!
You rock!
“I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH! YOU ALL ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!”
“With your support, the lineart is now FINISHED! I’m excited to color it tomorrow because that’s the FUN part!”
“Special thanks to Netta too, for encouraging me to sit down and work and for helping a bit with the lineart too.”
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
“How I got my paint splatter jeans.”
“Got this illustration for Brace For Impact Part 2 finished! And fun fact, all the designs on Jeanette’s bug dress are drawn individually and not copy pasted. This project is WAY more complicated than I expected, but it’s paying off!”
“Another interesting thing is that, in the story, I describe Jeanette’s painting as more realistic than my cartoony one, but that’s tricky to convey in an illustration that I’m drawing myself…which makes all of it cartoony by default.” 😅
“I hope you love this art piece half as much as I do.” 🎨
This might be in the next mini tale. Might not. Either way, it’s too good not to share.
(Simon tries to make Alvin narrow his scope so he can make a lot progress on one thing instead of a tiny bit of progress on multiple things.)
ALVIN 2.0: Okay, whatever this dart lands on, that’s the branch of physics I’m going to study!
(Alvin throws the dart across the room towards the dart board of different physics majors listed)
(The dart veers off course and hits his dad)
SIMON: Apparently, you’ll be studying the physics of Dave.
DAVE: (pulling the suction dart off his head) Alvinnn!
ALVIN 2.0: My bad! I’m trying to do the impossible, but it kinda seems like it’s still impossible…
DAVE: I don’t know what that means.
THEODORE: He’s trying to…uhh…narrow down his physics stuff to one field of study, cuz he realized it’s the only way he’ll make progress and become a famous scientist like Simon.
ALVIN 2.0: But I CAN’T CHOOSE! It’s all so exciting! I want to study everything!
SIMON: (hands him another dart) Remember, it’s not that you can’t dedicate a little focus to other topics, we just want you to have one that’s a MAIN focus.
ALVIN 2.0: And then I can win a Nobel Prize and finally tell all my fans I’m Alvin 2.0 now…instead of just hinting at it?
SIMON: One battle at a time, Alvin.
ALVIN 2.0: (throws the dart again and it misses the dartboard by a tiny margin and sticks to the wall.) Oh, come on!
DAVE: Maybe you should just flip a coin.
THEODORE: Or roll one of those funny shaped nerd dice! (He means a D-20)
ALVIN 2.0: (groans)
Flashback to that one Journey To Excelsior scene where Brittany defaces a picture of Alvin to cope with her feelings.
Later on in the fic, he ends up with the acne/rash and braces that she drew on the photo. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe she accidentally unleashed some hex on her friend/crush.
Always fun to think about.
ALVIN 2.0: It was so weird drawing a picture of Brittany drawing on a picture of me. Inception or something haha.
Added her skirt. I didn’t realize you would be able to see it from that angle.
Ellie’s “dog with a brand new chew toy” meme is illustrated at last!
“Check out Dr. Wilson’s awesome classroom in this illustration from Physics Fiasco Part 4!”
“Those posters were very time consuming!”
“Also, check out the clock. It took me a while to learn what time it was in there.”
“His room really showcases his personality!”

You rock!
“The illustration for chapter 4 (Physics Fiasco Part 2) is now finished!”
“Some things never change. I still frequently ramble Simon’s ears off about aliens, but now I have a ton of detailed scientific knowledge to add to those discussions.”
“This illustration of me thinking about physics while skateboarding comes from Physics Fiasco part 3! I’ll try and get part 2’s illustration done tomorrow.”
“I AM SO EXCITED TO BE FINISHING THESE! Also, look at Dr. Wilson there cheering me on!”
“Little did I know, that physics class I accidentally signed myself up for would change my life FOREVER!”
“Got another illustration done! I really really want that Newton’s cradle, you see. I’ve even picked the perfect spot for it on my desk!”
“Only 3 more finished illustrations and then the first 6 chapters of Journey To Excelsior will have their art pieces!”
“SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK ALBUM ART IS SKETCHED! CHECK US OUT!”
“I totally nailed the placement of the logo, right? That took me 3 tries! I am so hyped to share this album when it’s finished!”
“and now…for the DETAILS!”
“I’m wearing the cape as a reference to Zero, My Hero. Britt’s spoiled rich girl outfit is a reference to Dollars and Sense. Theo’s boy scout vest with badges is for Unpack Your Adjectives. Ellie’s stars and stripes are just for American History Rock as a whole but they’ll be minty green. Simon’s apple is just because academic flare lol. Jeanette’s sun necklace is for Solar Power To The People and her recycling shirt is for the 3 Rs.”
“Special thanks to Dr. Wilson for inspiring this whole schoolhouse rock album idea.” 💡
I saw a video today from a chronically ill woman about the fact you can feel so guilty when doing fun things.
She talks about how, as a kid, you learn to finish work before you can play and that you take this with you into adulthood. So you keep the mindset of having to finish 'have to' tasks/chores before being allowed to 'play'.
But when you're chronically ill, this is literally impossible! If you'd do that it would be all work and never play. That wouldn't be healthy at all. We need to remind ourselves of this. We don't need to feel guilty for doing something fun!
Got these mini backpacks for the Chipettes as a reward for finishing the Mother’s Day fic.
Gotta make the straps longer, but they’re PERFECT! and look at the stuff they come with! I didn’t know they had stuff inside!
